Building to accelerating: Ionprojects looking forward to 2026

As 2025 enters its final day, we sit down with Dimitri Op de Beeck, Managing Director of ionProjects. Where last year was all about laying foundations, 2026 is clearly all about acceleration.
We asked him what this means concretely for ionBIZ users.

2025 is described as a year of building. Why the focus on "under the hood"?

"Because you can only grow sustainably on a foundation that is robust," begins Dimitri. "In 2025, we prioritized stability and security. The full .NET migration and preparation for Peppol billing were not cosmetic interventions, but necessary upgrades to our engine. We want our customers to be able to trust their data with confidence. Just as we use ionBIZ to streamline our own processes, our software must be the place where operational control and peace of mind come together. That requires a system that is ready for tomorrow, not just today." In other words, the engine got its upgrade.

Technology is one thing, but you guys often talk about the human side. How did you see that reflected over the past year?

"Technology ultimately runs on people. I am immensely proud of how our team often proactively solves problems even before the customer is inconvenienced. For example, we had an unexpected weekend incident at an Internet provider. Thanks to our incident response processes and the team's quick turnaround, that was resolved with no impact to the user."
"That focus on security and reliability is an absolute pillar for us. Our ISO certifications are the external confirmation of that, but the real value is in the dedication of our colleagues."
On a human level, 2025 was also a year of strengthening. We were able to welcome two new colleagues and also saw a former employee return to ionProjects - a confirmation of the strong bond within the team.

Looking ahead to 2026: what can customers and prospects expect?

Dimitri's view is clear: the focus is now shifting to the user experience.
"Now that that solid foundation is in place, we are shifting up a gear. In 2026 everything revolves around what ionBIZ is strongest at: making complex work intuitive. We are rolling out version 2.0 and starting again on Feb. 1 with frequent updates that add immediate value."

"We don’t want to just build features. We want to deliver visible improvements that make our users' daily work faster and more enjoyable. Think of a sharper UI/UX and smoother third-party integrations via our MCP server."

Managing director

For Dimitri, these are not mere technical milestones, but confirmations of a broader strategy: a strong product, a close-knit team and intensive collaboration with customers.

What is your message to organizations hesitating about their next step?

"Operational control is not an end goal, it is the starting point for growth. We are ready to facilitate that growth. Not just as a software vendor, but as a partner who thinks about your processes. Ionprojects is ready to innovate with you."
