Building to accelerating: Ionprojects looking forward to 2026

As 2025 enters its final day, we sit down with Dimitri Op de Beeck, Managing Director of ionProjects. While the past year was defined by laying solid foundations, 2026 is set to be the year of acceleration. We asked him what this shift means for ionBIZ users.

2025 is described as a year of building. Why the focus on "under the hood"?

"Because sustainable growth is only possible on a robust foundation," Dimitri explains. "In 2025, stability and security were our top priorities. The full .NET migration and the preparations for Peppol invoicing weren't just cosmetic changes; they were essential engine upgrades. We want our clients to rely on their data with complete peace of mind. Just as we use ionBIZ to streamline our own internal processes, our software must be the place where operational control and confidence meet. That requires a system ready for tomorrow, not just today."

Technology is one thing, but you often emphasizes the human side of the business. How did that manifest over the past year?

Ultimately, technology is powered by people. I am incredibly proud of how our team proactively solves problems—often before a client even notices an issue. For instance, when an internet provider faced an unexpected weekend outage, our incident response protocols and the team’s quick action ensured there was zero impact on our users."

"That dedication to security and reliability is a core pillar for us. Our ISO certifications provide external validation, but the true value lies in the commitment of our colleagues."

2025 was also a year of growth for the team. We welcomed two new colleagues and were thrilled to see a former employee return to the fold—a testament to the strong culture and bond within the ionProjects team.

Looking ahead to 2026: what can customers and prospects expect?

Dimitri's view is clear: the focus is now shifting to the user experience.
"Now that that solid foundation is in place, we’re shifting gears. In 2026, we are doubling down on what ionBIZ does best: making complex tasks intuitive. We are rolling out Version 2.0 and, starting February 1st, we will resume frequent updates that provide immediate value."

"We don’t want to just build features. We want to deliver visible improvements that make our users' daily work faster and more enjoyable. Think of a sharper UI/UX and smoother third-party integrations via our MCP server."

For Dimitri, these aren't just technical milestones; they are part of a broader strategy: a powerful product, a tight-knit team, and deep collaboration with clients.

What is your message to organizations hesitating about their next step?

"Operational control isn’t the finish line; it’s the starting point for growth. We are here to facilitate that journey. We don't just act as a software vendor, but as a partner that understands and optimizes your processes. ionProjects is ready to innovate with you."
